Fall River man arrested for child abuse
FALL RIVER, Mass. –
Fall River Police are investigating a case of child abuse that led to the arrest of a 24-year-old Fall River man.
Police say they responded to St. Anne’s Hospital Friday morning for a report of a three-year-old child with injuries. Officials say the boy allegedly received the injuries while in the care of a family acquaintance. The child was subsequently transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
Fall River police issues an arrest warrant for 24-year-old John Arruda of Fall River after their investigation.
Arruda was arrested just before 7 a.m. Saturday morning at the Sunset Hill Housing Project. He is charged with assault and battery on a child with substantial injury and wanton or reckless endangering of a child.
The child’s condition is not known.
