Salisbury Man Arrested for Child Rape
SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury man is facing rape and related charges following accusations that he had an ongoing sexual relationship with a teenage girl in Somerset County.
Maryland State Police said that on Aug. 1, the MSP Princess Anne Barrack received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred against an underage child. Police said an investigation revealed that 47-year-old Timothy Lodge Riddleberger, had been in a sexual relationship with a minor between April of 2009 and July of 2011 while he was living in Marion in Somerset County.
According to investigators, the relationship began when Riddleberger was 43 and the victim was 14. Police said that during the course of the relationship, the victim stated that she was raped on one occasion.
Police said that as part of this investigation, troopers conducted a search warrant on Riddleberger’s current home on Old Ocean City Road in Salisbury. During the search warrant troopers said they seized a laptop belonging to Riddleberger. A search of the laptop revealed images of child pornography from a separate victim, according to police.
Riddleberger was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree rape, third- and fourth-degree sex offense and second-degree assault. He was ordered held on $500,000 bond.
