Online Red Flags For Parents...
1.

If your child spends excessive amounts of time online, particularly with one person, one chat room or one group. |

If your child is becoming removed from the family. |
| 3. |
If your child mentions how her Internet friend is more understanding than you are. |
| 4. |
If your child doesn't want to share information about people and messages he has received online. |
| 5. |
If the computer screen suddenly goes dark when you enter the room to see your child. |

If your child uses an unusual number of discs to retrieve information and/or is hiding discs, its may mean that adult
images are being downloaded or secret correspondence is being saved. |
Online Safety Tips For Kids...
| 1. |
Don't open e-mails or enclosures from people you don't know. |
| 2. |
Never respond to inappropriate or offensive messages. |
| 3. |
Pick a safe screen name. (Not a name that is suggestive.) |
| 4. |
Don't tell anyone your exact age. Just say you are under 18. |
| 5. |
Never send pictures of yourself without your parent's permission. |
| 6. |
Never give your password online. |
| 7. |
Do not fill out surveys or register at sites without your parent's permission. |
| 8. |
Never delete an e-mail that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable. |

Save it and show it to an adult you trust.

Never meet an online friend in person without your parents. |
