CPD: Clayton Business Owner Arrested – “Hair by Jim” Owner Charged with …

A popular Clayton business owner, Jim Frazier (“Hair by Jim” owner) has been arrested and charged with sexual battery by restraint and child molestation, according to the Clayton Police Department.

An email went out late last week with information on the arrest.

Clayton Police Chief Dan Lawrence confirmed the contents of the email, but says he cannot comment any further because the District Attorney now has the case.

Below is the email that was sent late last week:

Several months ago, a juvenile contacted the Clayton Police Department to report that she had been sexually assaulted. Officer Pike was assigned to the case and based on statements, determined that the suspect was the owner of “Hair by Jim”, Mr.  Jim Frazier.

After a lengthy investigation by Officer Pike, the case was presented to the DA’s office for evaluation and possible charges.

After their review, the DA filed two charges: the first charge; sexual battery by restraint, a felony; and the second charge; child molestation, a misdemeanor. A warrant was issued with bail set at $60,000.

On Friday, August 17th, 2012, Officers Allan Pike and Daren Billington arrested Mr. Frazier at his place of business. He was taken into custody without incident.

According to the Contra Costa County Jail, Jim Frazier is no longer in custody.

We’ll keep you updated on this case.
