ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A New Mexico grand jury has indicted a man in a deadly child abuse case.
The Office of the District Attorney announced Tuesday that Juan Galindo was indicted for allegedly abusing a 4-week-old girl so severely that she died as a result of her injuries.
He’s facing charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and several different child abuse charges.
Galindo was arrested by Albuquerque police last month.
Authorities say the infant was found cold, unresponsive and suffering from severe injuries when police arrived at the southwest Albuquerque home.
Galindo remains at the Metro Detention Center on a $1 million cash-only bond. It was unclear Tuesday whether he has legal representation yet.
